COUNTY HISTORY

Carmarthen County Bowling Association was formed on the 19th November 1926. Prior to that players had represented the Western Counties, which was an amalgamation of Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, but the majority of bowlers in the Western Counties eminated from Carmarthenshire.

Gomer Thomas of Parc Howard Bowls Club, a leader in forming the County, was elected its first Chairman and the Association was made up of just four clubs, namely Parc Howard, Parc Howard Tuesdays, Richard Thomas' and Llanelli Conservatives.

Records show that the first listed President of the County was Lady Howard Stepney who served in that office from 1928 until 1931.

As this site develops, more of the history will be added
